Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) transparently reports objective, comparable and third-party verified data about products from a lifecycle perspective.
EPD’s at present are not a mandatory requirement in the UK however RTA members have noticed a significant increase in the interest for environmental information. In anticipation of this change the RTA members are actively working towards providing the necessary credible EPD’s in the roof tile sector, based on best practice, as currently no public Product Category Rules or PCR’s exist to provide the rules, requirements, and guidelines for developing an EPD in the UK.
