Challenge

Ashfield District Council was carrying out a re-roofing project as part of a £30million five-year housing scheme to provide improvements to around 6,800 properties within the Council’s housing stock.

Russell Roof Tiles supplied 200,000 Highland roof tiles in cottage red to help refurbish and reroof Ashfield District Councils’ current housing stock in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Solution

Russell Roof Tiles worked closely with construction services company J Tomlinson Limited and Avonside Group. The concrete roof tiles were chosen to reflect the local tiles in the area while ensuring the sustainable benefits of a concrete tile. They are part of Russell Roof Tiles’ commercial range, providing a traditional concrete flat roof tile with a mock joint, which gives the appearance of small slates or tiles when they are laid broken bonded.

Result

The product provides consistency and longevity for the tenant while minimising future life time costs of the roof once installed.
